We sometimes have issues of the gumpaste tearing when the dough is not properly cured. If you mix tylose powder (CMC) with fondant, it needs to be cured at least overnight to make the gumpaste more elastic or you are probably rolling the dough too thin. Otherwise, the nobbles shouldn't be a problem. If you have no time for the dough to cure overnight, thinning the edges of the petals with the ball tool usually mends the tear and it is no longer visible.
